Aurora Animal Care Community presents Paws & Purpose: A Community Celebration! Join us for a tail-wagging good time as we celebrate our local K9 heroes as well as showcase our very own Aurora K9 Fit rehabilitation and wellness services.
What To Expect:
Enjoy some complementary pup cups and ice cream floats while hanging out with some of the crew from AACC and their dogs! Your own pet is welcome to join while leashed the entire time.
Join us for a sneak peek at the discipline, intelligence, and heart behind the world of working dogs. From sniffing out danger to protecting their communities, these specially trained K9s play impactful roles in public safety. Join us for a meet and greet with Aurora Police Resource Officer K9 Queso. LIVE demonstrations by retired State of Ohio Accelerant Detection K9 Harley and Mantua Police K9 Ciko.
Join Lerrissa RVT CCRP, the head of Aurora K9 Fit rehabilitation & wellness, with her demo dog Reese for an inside look at how fitness and rehab programs help dogs and cats build strength, prevent injury, and recover from surgeries. Even though we can't haul our underwater treadmill to Mantua Vet Clinic's backyard, this demo will show you how rehab and wellness can help all dogs move better, feel better, and have a better quality of life.
While you are in the area, make sure to stop by Art on the Hill to explore the unique item's available for purchase by local vendors. Also, enjoy some eats from a variety of food trucks!
Raffle Baskets to Support our K9 Heroes
Stop into Aurora, Mantua, or Streetsboro to purchase tickets for our three available raffle baskets. Tickets are 1 for $1 or 6 for $5 (cash only). All proceeds will be donated to our local police K9 units in support of their care. Tickets will be available for purchase at our event and names will be drawn around 5:30pm. Winners will be contacted within two business days!
Schedule of Events:
- 2pm: Meet & greet with Aurora Police K9 Queso
- 3pm: Demonstration by retired State of Ohio Accelerant Detection K9 Harley
- 4pm: Demonstration by Mantua Police K9 Ciko
- Aurora K9 Fit will be doing multiple demonstrations between our K9 Hero demonstrations
- 5:30pm: Raffle Basket Drawing (winners contacted within two business days)
