Meet the Team

Dr. Matlock joined Aurora Animal Care Community in June of 2015.

Dr. Jennifer Kartley began working in the practice as part of the client service team in August of 1999.

Born in Maple Heights, Ohio and raised in Auburn township, Ohio Dr. Kim Zalewski discovered a profound calling in a profession centered on building connections with people and positively influencing the health and well-being of their furry family members.

Dr. Robin Rosen-Sharp joined the the practice in March of 1993. She is a 1983 graduate of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Stacy (Hallabrin) Burns was raised in Lexington Ohio. She knew from an early age she wanted to help animals. Dr.

Dr. Abbey White started with Aurora Animal Care Community in October of 2023. She grew up in Shalersville, OH and graduated from Hiram College in 2013. Dr.

Dr. Alison Cash is a dedicated veterinarian who graduated from Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 2024 where she completed the dual DVM-PhD program.

Dr. Song grew up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. She received her undergraduate degree in biology from Houghton College in Western New York.

Dr. Slawienski is a native of Buffalo, New York.

Lerrissa has been with Aurora Animal Care Community since 2005. She graduated from Stautzenberger College with an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.

Tracie has been with Aurora Animal Care Community since July 2023. Born and raised in Edinburg, Ohio, Tracie discovered her passion for creating efficient and thriving workspaces early on.

Meet Todd, a dedicated certified pharmacy technician and proud Ohio native. Graduating with honors and achieving the highest academic average from pharmacy technician school, Todd initially pursued a career in banking before discovering his true passion for pharmacy in 2015.

Kathy has been in the Veterinary Field for nearly 30 years. In the beginning of Kathy’s career, she started caring for dairy animals and then transitioned in to small animal medicine. Kathy has been working with the Aurora Animal Care Community since 2003!

Lisa joined Aurora Animal Care Community with an Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology in 1999. She enjoys working at the practice because they give Registered Technicians the opportunity to utilize the skills they learned in school.

Amber's journey at Aurora Animal Care Community began in 2017.

Joanna joined the Aurora Animal Care Community in 2008. She attended college at SUNY Fredonia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Biology.

Born and raised in Eastlake, Ohio, Heather has always felt a deep connection to animals. In 2012 she moved to Chesterland where her passion for veterinary care continued to grow.

Dallene joined Aurora Animal Care Community in 2011. She graduated from Ohio University in 2018 with a bachelors of Science in Environmental Science.

Chris (Christine) joined Aurora Animal Care Community as a veterinary assistant in April of 2019 but has been shadowing Dr. Kartley since the summer of 2010 .

Deanna started with Aurora Animal Care Community in July of 2020. She attended Case Western Reserve University and graduated with a B.S. in Biology and minor in German in 2014.

Morgan joined the Aurora Animal Care Community in 2015. She studied Veterinary Assisting at Northcoast Training Academy and Agriculture at Cisco College in Texas.

Val joined the Aurora Animal Care Community in 1978. Val has grown with our practice and is integral part of our team. She loves helping animals and working with our amazing staff here at the clinic. Val lives in Paris Township with her 2 cats, Marblecakes and Naomi.

Kenzie joined the Aurora Animal Care Community in December 2020 after finishing school at North Coast Medical Training Academy to become a Veterinary Assistant.

Jack joined Aurora Animal Care Community in July 2021. He enjoys hiking with his Dutch Malinois Dragon and watching movies. Jack enjoys working with the animals in the clinic and being an advocate for them and their well-being. His special interest in the veterinary field is animal behavior.

Nicole started working at Aurora Animal Care Community in March of 2022. She graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in Zoology.

Sharon has been with Aurora Animal Care Community in August of 2022. She holds a masters degree in Accounting & Finance from Cleveland State University.

Daylynn has been with Aurora Animal Care Community since September of 2022. Her favorite part of vet med is being able to help patients and clients as well as seeing the many faces of various breeds that come in.

Michelle joined the team in March 2020. She was previously a banker for 10 years. Michelle has four pets: a beagle named Molly, a yorkie/shihtzu named Vern, a kitten named Georgia, and a cat named Ember.

Natalie has been with Aurora Animal Care Community since 2021. She graduated from Kent State University with a Bachelors of Science in Fashion Merchandising. Her real passion lies with animals.

Satasha has been with Aurora Animal Care Community since October 2022. She graduated from Hiram College in 2023 and she aspires to become a veterinarian.

Brooke became part of the Aurora Animal Care Community team in November 2023. Originally from Brecksville, Ohio she relocated to Streetsboro during elementary school and has called it home ever since. Brooke's childhood surrounded by various animals sparked her passion for this career path.

Shaelynn joined Aurora Animal Care Community in January of 2024. Her dedication to compassionate animal care started many years ago after her time as a pet stylist. There she cultivated an appreciation for the well-being of animals.

Samantha joined the Aurora Animal Care Community in February of 2020. She graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor and Masters degree in Communication and Business.

Danielle joined the Aurora Animal Care Community in 2001. She takes a special interest and pride in supporting our clients during the good and the bad times. Danielle admires that our team comes together as a family in times of personal need.

Jen has been with the Aurora Animal Care Community since April 2019. She graduated from Northcoast Medical Training Academy for Veterinary Assisting. She holds a special interest in Feline Nutrition and enrichment.

Gay joined the Aurora Animal Care Community in 1997. Gay enjoys working here because we are family and we all work together for the best outcome for the pet. Gay has 3 kids and multiple pets such as cats, dogs, chickens, goats and horses.

Kelsey joined our team in April 2025, bringing years of experience as a veterinary assistant and receptionist. Her passion for veterinary medicine began when she was just 10 years old, and she has loved working with clients and their pets ever since.

Ace was welcomed to our team in 2004. He was our head greeter at our Mantua clinic. Most days you would have found him basking in the sun in his comfortable chair, or gazing at the fish swimming around in their tank.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Sandy. Sandy was not only a valued member of our family but also a kind, generous, and dedicated person who touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Ashley started working for the kennel in February 2025. She is a junior in high school and she plans on continuing her education at The Ohio State University.
